My name is Agnė Juršytė, I held over 10 solo exhibitions in Lithuania and abroad, taken part in many group exhibitions and international symposiums. I am a member of Lithuanian Artist‘s Association since 2008 and I have worked as a professional artist since I graduated with an MA in Graphic Arts from the Vilnius Academy of Arts.
My main interests have been mostly in graphic arts, and I have produced several personal exhibitions in these techniques, but more recently I have developed an interest in painting as well.
My art features paintings in large formats and bright colors that, to me, represent the industrial world. I feel concerned with the social problems presented by this state of the society driven by technology towards the "progress", but losing its members along the way. I am convinced that art can play a therapeutic and intellectual role in resolving all the issues, or at least identifying them for an easier resolution in other fields. My paintings so far have been deliberately problematic, aimed towards the tension between opposites and an uneasy position of being in between them.
Painting is my passion of life. I feel the world through the combinations and shades. Every man, every story for me is the color.
